The Blades have a large number of players on international duty across this two-week break. Fans and the coaching staff will be keeping their fingers crossed, hoping they remain injury-free.

John Egan, George Baldock, Iliman Ndiaye, Sander Berge and Rhys Norrington-Davies could all feature for their respective nations. Whilst loanees Reda Khadra, Tommy Doyle and James McAtee could feature for their nations u21’s team. Rhian Brewster will also join the England u21’s, with Tommy Doyle and James McAtee.

Daniel Jebbison has been called up to the England u20’s, whilst Sai Sachdev has been called up to the England u18’s. Hassan Ayari has been called up to the Tunisia u23’s.

With United suffering yet another injury in the defensive positions, it would be a huge blow if they were to pick up another. Anel Ahmedhodzic suffered a thigh injury with Bosnia during their preparation for their UEFA Nations League games.

Paul Heckingbottom told the Star:

“It can be an anxious time, yes. But we’re just proud to see them go, because it reflects well on them and on what we’re doing as a football club.”

Sheffield United supporters have a chance to see some of their players in action on Tuesday the 27th of September as the England u21’s will face Germany u21’s at Bramall Lane. Reda Khadra, Tommy Doyle, James McAtee and Rhian Brewster all have a chance to feature in that match.
