Sheffield United are working hard to bring in more players this summer. Yorkshire Live understands that Blades target Tom Lawrence has not reported back to pre-season training with the Rams.

As per reports, Heckingbottom is hopeful that United can get a deal done for the Welshman, in time for him to fly out to Portugal at some point this week.

Lawrence, 28, was the club captain of Derby County last season and was one of the standout performers in a difficult campaign for the Rams.

Tom Lawrence notched 11 goals and 5 assists in 38 league games for the relegated Rams last season. Two of those goals came against Sheffield United when they visited Pride Park, and lost 2-0 following Lawrence’s excellent strikes.

The Yorkshire Live report also states that United have another Premier League target lined up. Could this be Tim Iroegbunam? United have previously expressed interest in bringing the Villa youngster on loan to Bramall Lane.

If United can add Tom Lawrence to the list of incomings that they’ve announced this summer, including the confirmation of Anel Ahmedhodzic, that would spell a great summer for United.
