The Daily Mail is reporting that Sheffield United are set to capture Joe Mattock from West Bromwich Albion on a six month loan deal.
Mattock, who is still only 20, played a significant part in West Brom’s promotion back to the Premier League last season, but has seen his chances limited this campaign.
The former Leicester City left-back has been capped at Under 17, 19 and 21 level by England after bursting on the scene as a youngster at the Walkers Stadium.
With Andy Taylor ruled out until the end of the season, and no set date for Stephen Jordan’s return, cover on the left side of defence is crucial for the Blades in their quest for survival.
