Vital Quotes:

Preston Team News:

Despite the loss of ex-wednesdayite and once united target, Richard Creswell and American ace Eddie Lewis Preston, in many ways the Preston team United will face is better than the one that came within touching distance of Premiership football. David Nugent and Dickinson Etuhu epitomize a bunch of very talented players, young, exiting and attacking. Nugent, in particular will undoubtedly pose a huge threat to paddy Kenny?s goal and the blades defense. Youl Mawene and Graham Alexander will make life hard for Webber and Shipperly in defense while there?s no doubting McKenna?s ability after that perfect free kick at Bramall lane.

However, United will prove an even bigger test for Preston and after the team has somewhat re-discovered the rich vein of form that propelled the blades in to a top two position, the united fans, players and manager will hope for all three points in what could be yet another footstep towards the promised land. I predict 2-1 united.

Player to watch: David Nugent

Blades Team News:

Friday draws closer by the minute and the eager eyes of millions of sky TV viewers? lick there lips will the prospect of a cracking match. Under the watchful cameras the blades, second in the table, take on Preston, second in the form table.

We were all surprised at the trouncing Burnley left the lane with, but don?t expect anything similar at Deepdale. The Clarets are a big strong side and with the likes of Akinbiyi they?ve got goals up top, but on the whole they are one dimensional. Despite being good at frustrating their opponents they don?t create chances and are very predictable. Preston North End, on the other hand, play to win.
