Sheffield United slumped to yet another defeat and four points from safety thanks to a 3-0 defeat at Ipswich Town at the weekend. The Blades ended the game with nine men, infuriating Micky Adams.

Speaking of Rob Kozluk’s second half dismissal, Adams said: ‘The ball had gone on and he should have been big enough and brave enough to stand up and stay on the pitch, to help us keep eleven men – the game was already over in terms of the result.

Lee Williamson also saw red in a game that saw United hammered. ‘Lee knew he was already on a yellow but he chirped at the referee. It was stupid by the pair of them and they will be dealt with through our own internal code of conduct.

Those last ten minutes were stupid and we didn’t deserve to take anything from the game.’

The Blades mustered just 39% of possession in the game, and are now at least two games from escaping the bottom three. The highlight of the game came three minutes from time when hot prospect Connor Wickham score a fine solo effort, following goals from Mark Delaney and skipper David Norris.

Ched Evans missed the game with illness, and Neil Collins’ introduction owing to a Joe Mattock injury meant that Shane Lowry was moved to left-back.
