Sheffield United could be without several more first-team players for the trip to Ipswich Town on Saturday, but have been boosted by the return of several more.

Joe Mattock is the most recent addition to the treatment table, following his injury in the game against hometown club Leicester. Mattock, who it appeared was struggling psychologically in the game saw things go from bad to worse as he went down on the left wing and had to be stretchered off with what many suspected a broken leg.

However, it’s not as bad as first feared and it looks like he could be out for only a month.

i>”His ankle bone is badly bruised but that is less of a concern that his knee which has some ligament damage, but it could have been a lot worse. The best case scenario is that he could be out for weeks, and the worse would be about six.’

Speaking of the other players missing, Adams also added: ‘Nick Montgomery has a slight calf strain, Ched Evans has reported illness and Daniel Bogdanovic injured his thigh in a slight car accident for which, incidentally, he was not responsible.”

‘All are doubtful at this stage and Nyron Nosworthy is not yet available even though he has begun light training.

‘However, on the bright side, we now have Neill Collins eligible to play after signing from Leeds, and we have added Stephen Jordan, Jean Calve and David McAllister to the squad.’
