The latest Vital Sheffield United poll asked fans who they thought would win the FA Cup this year.

The results are in, and it appears that Manchester United are the clear favourites with 40% of the votes.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side are currently sitting top of the Premiership and have an impressive six point lead over rivals Chelsea.

However, the Red Devils only scraped through to the third round thanks to an injury time winner from Solskjaer against Aston Villa.

Second favourites were Arsenal with 26% of the votes. Wenger’s side faced a tough test away to Liverpool in the third round, but won comfortably in the end, 3-1.

Neither Manchester United or Arsenal will have an easy task of progressing to the fifth round though. Ferguson’s side face a tricky tie against Portsmouth at home, while Whinger’s team face Bolton at the Emirates stadium.

Sadly voters were against the idea that an outsider could win the competition, as the option of a giant killing only received 5% of the votes.

Football can be a strange game though, and often surprises you when you least expect it. So come May… who knows?
