Swansea City defender Alan Tate could be used as a makeweight in the Swans approach for Blades coach Gary Speed.
The men from South Wales have been rejected in two approaches for United’s First Team Coach, but the former Newcastle United man still appears to be the first choice.
The addition of Alan Tate into the deal could prove the offer that Kevin Blackwell finally succumbs to, especially considering the blow received with the injury to Simon Walton.
The story was reported in the Evening Post, who also pointed out that the Blades had previously made an enquiry about the former Manchester United man, earlier in the Summer.
Considering the lack of numbers amongst the Blades backline currently, this could turn out to be an offer that manager Blackwell, can’t refuse.
