Young Sheffield United goalkeeper George Willis missed out on the LFE Apprentice of the Year in League One at the Football League Awards on Sunday night.

The 17-year old was on a shortlist of three players for League One with the award going to Hartlepool United striker Luke James. The 18-year-old has already made 39 appearances for the Hartlepool since making his debut as a 17-year-old last season and he is the youngest ever goalscorer in their history when he scored in his fifth appearance.

Willis has been included in the United squad this season as back up to George Long earlier this season and he also made his debut for the England under 19 side in September and he looks to have a bright future in the game.
