With the fixtures due to be released on Wednesday morning, Sheffield United already know their opening day opponents as the Football League mark its 125th anniversary.

United will face Notts County at Bramall Lane on the opening day (August 3rd).

The Football League are marking their 125th anniversary by picking two games from the championship and League One on the opening day from clubs who were amongst the founder members of the league in 1888.

The other game in League One will see Preston North End welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The championship will see Burnley host Lancashire neighbours Bolton Wanderers whilst Blackburn Rovers will travel to Derby County.

In League Two, the Football League have chosen the newest Football League club Newport County to face Accrington Stanley whilst the other game chosen will be Rochdale v Hartlepool United, who are the two clubs in the Football League to have met the most times.

United will find out the rest of their fixtures for the 2013/14 season when they are announced at 9am on Wednesday.

Burnley v Bolton Wanderers
Derby County v Blackburn Rovers

League 1
Preston North End v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Sheffield United v Notts County

League 2
Newport County v Accrington Stanley
Rochdale v Hartlepool United
