Sheffield United ensured a great day at Wembley is on the horizon after booking their place in the FA Cup semi-final with a 2-0 win over Charlton.

I give my ratings of the player`s performance during the game.

Howard 7
He had no serious save to make in the 90 minutes as he was guarded by a superb defensive performance. He did come out and claim a number of crosses. I think George Long is a great young goalkeeper and it is no coincidence that the defensive displays have improved since the return of Mark Howard.

Brayford 8
It was a great start to the day when it was revealed that Brayford was in the side. He has been a revelation since his arrival and his goal capped another superb performance.

Maguire 9 Man of the Match
As well as another superb defensive performance, his ability to break from defence is getting better. Twice, he broke to start a United attack and we came close to scoring from one at the end of the first half.

Collins 8
His partnership is superb alongside Maguire. In the first half of the season when the blades couldn`t keep a clean sheet and were shipping goals for fun, I often asked the question why things had changed since the end of last season. The defence is now looking better than ever and a eighth clean sheet in nine games is testament to that.

Harris 8
When United swapped Tony McMahon for Harris in January, I was a bit sceptical but what a shrewd bit of business it has been by Nigel Clough. Like Brayford, as well as being good in defence, he gets up and down the pitch to help out in attack.

Doyle 8
Since his return from suspension, he has been superb in the blades midfield. Another great performance and often some of his hard work is missed but his work rate allows players like Flynn and Murphy to be a threat on the wings.

Coady 7
He is another player who in the second half of this season has been unrecognisable from the one who played in the first half of the season. He twice came close to getting on the score sheet but he was twice flagged for offside after finding the net. First one looked clear-cut but not sure about the second one.

Baxter 7
I thought he struggled in the first half but Clough used him slightly differently in the second half and he had a much better game. His set pieces were also poor in the first half. They were much better in the second half and it was his cross that led to the first goal and set United on their way to victory.

Flynn 8
He set United on their way with the first goal, with a superbly timed run at the back post. Again, he caused problems on the wing and he has also been a revelation in the past few months.

Murphy 8
Like Flynn, he has been a revelation in the past few months. He was a constant threat on the left and it is great to watch two wingers having a real go at the opposition defenders.

Scougall 7
He struggled to get a foothold in the game in the first half but I love his endeavour and determination in the midfield. He is still young and I cannot wait to see him next season.

Subs

Davies 5

He came on for the final ten minutes as the clock was wound down and the fans got to show their appreciation to those players coming off.

Porter 5
I expected him to come on and score just to end a perfect afternoon.

McGinn 5
Good to see him back from injury and he got the final few minutes on the pitch.
