Sheffield United have made their first signing of the January transfer window with Doncaster Rovers striker Billy Paynter joining on loan.
The 29-year-old striker joins the blades on loan until the end of the season and he will go straight into the squad for the game at Notts County on Saturday.
Blades boss Nigel Clough has been desperate to add a striker to his squad having seen the side net just 23 goals in 24 games in League One this season.
Paynter will not be eligible for the FA Cup having played for Doncaster last weekend in their third round tie.
