Sheffield United goalkeeper George Long was once again an unused substitute as England crashed out of the under-20 World Cup finals with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Egypt.

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone retained his place in goal for the third group game has Long watched from the sidelines.

England dominated for long periods and had a number of chances to open the scoring before being undone with two late goals.

Trezeguet gave the Egyptians the lead with just eleven minutes remaining and Ahmed Hassan scored deep into injury time with a breakaway goal.

The result sees England finish bottom of their group with just two points from their three games.

Long will now be able to return to Sheffield United earlier than expected with the tournament running until July 13th.
