Sheffield United caretaker manager Chris Morgan is expected to make changes for the penultimate game of the season at Crewe Alexandra.

United are guaranteed a play-off place but can no longer gain automatic promotion after their 3-0 defeat at Portsmouth at the weekend.

Morgan could take the opportunity to change things around after the blades played their seventh game in the past three weeks.

Defender Tony McMahon is definitely out after picking up an Achilles tendon injury on Saturday. Morgan says he could play but is not expected to risk him ahead of the play-offs.

Fellow defender Harry Maguire is back in the squad after he missed the trip to Portsmouth through suspension.

Goalkeeper Mark Howard is closing in on a return after featuring for the under-21 side last week after six months out.

Lescinel Jean-Francois, Diego De Girolamo, Richard Cresswell and Shaun Miller all remain on the sidelines through injury.

Captain Luke Murphy remains on the sidelines along with Mathias Pogba and defender Gregor Robertson.

Adam Dugdale is back in the squad after time off on compassionate grounds after the death of his new born baby recently.
