Charlton Athletic have got one up on Sheffield United on the eve of the FA Cup quarter-final after goalkeeper Ben Hamer was named player of the round for round five.

Hamer won the award for his performance in their 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday to book a return to Sheffield for the quarter-final tie at Bramall Lane.

The goalkeeper beat the blades own Chris Porter to the award after the striker along with Ben Watson (Wigan Athletic) and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain (Arsenal) were shortlisted for the award by a panel of judges.

Fans were then asked to vote for their player of the round with Hamer coming out on top.

Let us hope he used up all his good saves the last time he was in Sheffield.
