Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough is sweating on the fitness of a number of players ahead of the FA Cup clash with Charlton Athletic on Sunday.

Jamie Murphy, Paul Brayford and Harry Maguire remain doubts after picking up knocks in recent weeks.

Maguire looks to have the best chance of returning from the knee injury that has kept him out of the last two games and he has returned to training.

Clough says he will leave it until the last minute before making a decision on the injured players.

The blades boss will add Kieron Freeman to the squad following his arrival from Derby County on loan this week.

Billy Paynter, Elliott Whitehouse and Callum McFadzean are unavailable having played in the competition for other clubs this season.

Striker Marcus Tudgay is now eligible for Charlton Athletic after being ineligible for the last round. The on loan Nottingham Forest striker signed for Charlton after the original tie was due to take place at Sheffield Wednesday in the last round, making him ineligible for the re-arranged clash.

Michael Morrison is a doubt after limping out of the game at Leicester City last weekend and Simon Church and Jordan Cousins are also carrying knocks from the same game.

Leon Cort is closing in on a return after a long-term injury whilst Chris Solly is definitely out through injury.
