Sheffield United could be set to bring in defensive cover in the shape of Andrew Davies, after Bolton defender Danny Shittu rejected a move to the Blades.
It appears the Blades have now turned their attention to the Stoke City centre half after Zurab Khizanishvilli opted for St James’ Park rather than Bramall Lane.
‘We had an agreement with Zurab Khizanishvili, his agent and Blackburn Rovers to bring him in on loan and then at midnight we heard that he had signed for Newcastle.’
Davies has over fifty Premiership appearances to his name, and can play at right back or in the middle of defence.
