Sheffield United boss Gary Speed has launched an inquest into Sheffield United’s injury problems, following the latest blow for Andy Reid.

Reid was absent from the Blades eighteen on Saturday due to a hamstring issue, and Speed believes that this is one too many following a similar blow to Stephen Jordan.

It certainly is bad luck, we’ve also been suffering far too many hamstring injuries for my liking of late and that’s something we’ve got to examine.

‘We’ll be taking a look at everything we do during training and before and after games with the physios and fitness staff to see if there’s something we can change.

Speaking on Reid, the Blades manager doesn’t believe it’s too serious, and the midfielder could feature again before his spell comes to an end.

‘It’s only a slight problem, Andy hasn’t torn his hamstring. Hopefully he will be back soon. We’ll just have to wait and see.’ “
