Blades midfielder Stephen Quinn explained his delight at getting on the scoresheet Saturday but insists it was overshadowed by yet another home defeat.

Quinn, who has proven a major goal threat for United in recent years opened his account for the season with an excellent controlled strike from the edge of the area.

‘I am always pleased to score and with the family here it was a bit more special because I was certainly due one. I have been threatening in recent weeks and my performances have been OK, but whilst it was grand to score it is really frustrating that we lost the game.

Speaking of the game, the Irishman also added.

‘It is another massive disappointment,’ said Quinn. ‘We went behind to a sloppy goal but then after equalising we were on top for a good spell and I thought we could kick on and win the game.

Unfortunately, though, we conceded another poor goal and we seem to be doing that a lot recently, but we have to keep fighting because we are in a little bit of trouble at the moment.’
