Sheffield United striker Neil Shipperley has had his contract terminated by the club by mutual agreement.

Shipperley has failed to play a single minute of Premiership football this season, after having a huge hand in the Blades promotion push last term.

Shipperley, 32, was United’s top scorer last season with 11 goals and became an integral part of the promotion winning team.

However, the striker has been hit by injury this campaign and has now decided to leave the club.

The decision to terminate the player’s contract means Shipperley is free to join a club even after the January transfer window closes.
