Sheffield United slipped to a home defeat against promotion rivals Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday night as the rearranged fixtures, postponed from earlier in the season, ended in the visitors celebrating.

A late winner was enough to send MK Dons away with a 1-0 win at Bramall Lane.

MK Dons started the brighter with a deflection sending a Will Grigg effort wide, with them having the first effort of note but Jordan Spence wasn’t able to trouble Mark Howard too much as his strike was straight at hi,

Chris Basham, from distance, made MK Dons ‘keeper David Martin saved and Stefan Scougall put an effort wide as we started to look threatening with a dangerous ball or two just needing a finish, Paddy McCarthy guilty of heading over before the break when he had a good chance.

Scougall put a second half effort on target but this was saved again by Martin with MK Dons then going closest of all when Antony Kay’s header was cleared off the line by the covering Jamie Murphy to keep it goalless.

As the game moved onto the closing minutes a nil-nil draw looked on until Dele Alli (87), following up Danny Green freekick that Howard could only parry away, scored to extended MK Dons’ unbeaten league 1 run to nine-games and earn them a one-nil win.

MK Dons did end with 10-men though when Green went for his second yellow card in injury-time.
