It Will be a quick turnaround for the Blades as they try to put Saturday’s draw behind them, with their full attention now turning to QPR under the Bramall Lane lights on Tuesday.

The Birmingham City game was the first match back after the international break, and it showed. United didn’t look at their free-flowing best.

Due to the amount of international players that United have at their disposal, they haven’t had many players training over the past couple of weeks. Blades manager Paul Heckingbottom revealed that they only had four senior players training throughout the two-week period.

Heckingbottom told SUTV: “I would like some time with the players now. We had four players training in the break and only two, Ollie and Bash, when Jayden and Bill played with the 21s. We only had any sort of time on the grass for an hour yesterday.”

Saturday’s performance and intensity of the game was understandable, but after going 1-0 up at home, it was a serious kick in the gut to give up that lead only six minutes after taking it.

United’s gaffer stated that his side prepared for the Birmingham game by looking at video footage, and they only had 60 minutes of actual ball work. Now that the international players have had a few days to settle back in, preparation for Tuesday night’s game will be back to normal, as they hope to get back into the win column at home.
