Talk about putting your foot in it.
Perhaps there’s just a tinge of jealousy over the fact that his own club have never competed in Europe, but that’s just a guess on my part.
Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, no stranger to controversy, was on TalkSPORT recently discussing Sheffield United’s hunt for European football, and how a successful trip on the continent might spell trouble for us going into next season.
He cited teams such as Burnley who got off to terrible starts when they entered the Europa League back in 2018-19, and Ipswich Town in 2001-02 as examples of teams that didn’t manage to cope with the strain of competing on these fronts given the size of the club.
Do you agree with Simon Jordan's comments?
Yes
No
And these comments did not sit well with members of the Sheffield United fans base, who tore into Jordan over his comments.
Not being funny or owt but for teams like United this never happens live for now and we’ll just enjoy the ride whatever happens

We’ll be just fine the manager will take care of what ever presents itself to us be that Europe or not

Getting in to Europe is our pinnacle as what’s the best we can ever do in the league, our manager will not shy away fro that and grasp it from both hands.

A high %age of our fans are saying this.
Probably the same fans who were opposed to promotion last season. Saying shite like "I'd rather be competitive at top half of Championship every year than struggle in the Prem every year"EVERY sport is played to win. What's point if not?

I get his point, but it may never come around again. Live for now. https://t.co/PsWeC4q1yb

What about you? What do you make of Jordan’s comments on the matter?
