The Blades started their pre-season tour of Ireland with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Newry City at the Showgrounds Stadium.
Goals from Alan Quinn, Michael Tonge and Danny Webber ensured the Blades began their three game tour of the country on a high.
Newry City started the brighter of the two sides and it took United till the 40th minute to break the deadlock, thanks to a cross from Stead that was turned home by Alan QUINN from six yards.
The Blades missed a couple of early chances at the start of the second half before City grabbed an equaliser thanks to a CLARKE free kick just outside the area.
Michael TONGE restored the Blades lead with a low free kick in the 80th minute before WEBBER wrapped up the scoring with a close range tap-in in the last minute of the game.
United next play on Tuesday evening when they take on Longford Town, kick off 7.30pm.
