Nick Montgomery has spoken of the pressure of playing at Bramall Lane, but believes it’s something for the team to relish rather than be afraid of.

United have struggled at home recently, and are without a win in their last four, including defeats to Ipswich, Coventry and Scunthorpe United – fortress Bramall Lane hardly living up to its tag.

However, ‘Monty’ who has taken the captaincy in the absence of Chris Morgan explains the significance of the supporters at the ‘Lane, brandishing them as ‘superb.’

‘We look forward to playing at our place, why wouldn’t we? Our fans are absolutely superb and they really get behind us.Yes, of course they let us know when things aren’t up to scratch and they don’t like to see us lose. We don’t like losing either. But to say we don’t like playing there just isn’t true. Pressure comes with expectation and I’d rather be at a club that’s expected to do something like us than not. It’s up to us to give them something to shout about as well and when they do they make a massive amount of noise.’

With Saturday’s opponents languishing below United, in the bottom three, a victory on Saturday to go three games unbeaten could really turn the Blades’ season around.
