So not only are Chelsea backed by a Russian billionaire, have millions of pounds worth of sponsorship deals, and boast a squad in excess of £200M, they now want to rip the fans off too.
I’ve just found out that our trip to Stamford Bridge in March is going to cost away fans…..wait for it….. £48!!!!!!
Are Chelsea extracting the Michael or what? You could have a little more understanding, just a little mind, if Chelsea needed the cash, but who are they trying to kid!
The sad fact is that I’ve already bought my ticket because I want to see my team play against the champions. The even sadder fact is that Chelsea know this, and have absolutely no hesitation in exploiting it!!!
Before any Chelsea fans start coming out with crap like ‘that’s football now’ and ‘other clubs are just the same’ I’d like to use United as an example.
With this being our first time back in the top flight for 12 years you could forgive the club for trying to earn as much out of the experience as possible.
However, the Blades have gone the other way and have offered a number of deals on tickets at numerous games this season (eg Season ticket holders could buy another ticket for £15 against Fulham last week).
Even though there are no deals on this Saturday’s game at the Lane, fans can still get an adult ticket for £26 and concession for £18 on the Kop.
Although I still think this is too expensive for the so called ‘people’s game’, it is just about affordable.
There is some good news though! If you buy a ticket on the lower tier at Chelsea you can get it for the cut-down price of only….. £45! What a bargain!!!
