Such is Kyle McFadzean’s desire to return to Sheffield United (apparently) the defender has handed in a transfer request to MK Dons in order to force through the move.

At least try to force it through?

The 29-year-old started his career with United after coming through the academy with Chris Wilder believed to be interested in bringing the experienced defender back to Bramall Lane for a second spell.

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, himself previously linked with the managerial job with the Blades in the past, has said he doesn’t want to sell him to a competitor so unless a Championship club comes in and offers the right amount he’ll not be sold.

If it means him then needing to ‘sit in the reserves’ if he doesn’t like this that will happen.

Wilder would like to bring in some extra defensive options so we’ll see if McFadzean does end up returning to United or not.

One of those that left this summer (probably not being missed by too many) was Jay McEveley. The 31-year-old former captain, appointed into the role by Nigel Adkins, was released after two-years with the club.

The former Scottish international has headed to Scotland where he’s signed a two-year deal with Ross County.
