Sheffield United’s Michael Tonge reflects on a disappointing start to the season and explains how the Blades put their relegation behind them.
‘ I think we have put the whole controversy about relegation behind us and it was easy to do that because we’ve had a change of manager. In a way that was a chance to draw a line under those events and just get on with the job.
‘We’ve played alright in fits and starts so far, but we just don`t seem to be getting the consistency that we would like. It’s been a bit of a funny season from the moment we kicked-off against Colchester.
‘Lee Hendrie and Gary Naysmith have trained with us for the first time this season and that’s great news. Both are big players for the club and we will need them both throughout the season. They will help to push us on.
‘The lads have done pretty well and worked hard without those boys in the team, but there is no doubt that they are quality players who will give us something extra.’
