James McAtee is currently undergoing a medical at Sheffield United today, Alan Nixon has revealed.
It seems like the Blades have fought off the interest from rival Championship clubs Swansea and Huddersfield. McAtee will be the second season-long loan signing this summer from Premier League champions Manchester City.
The 19 year-old attacking midfielder scored 18 goals in 23 games for Manchester City U23’s last season. He made 6 appearances off the bench for the senior team last season across all competitions, including the UEFA Champions League.
McAtee is primarily a number 10, he also possesses the attributes to play as a false 9. United have options and flair ability in abundance in the front line. It’s now up to Heckingbottom to field the right combinations.
