Despite starting the game slowly, the Blades remained top of the table after beating Preston North End. Goals from Iliman Ndiaye and Oli McBurnie sealed a fourth win in as many games for United.

Inform midfielder Ollie Norwood, 31, spoke to SUTV after the game about Sheffield United’s struggles in the 2-0 away win against Preston.

The former Northern Ireland international said:

“We weren’t at our best, we know that. But we got the second goal and put the game to bed.”

Ollie Norwood has a plethora of Championship promotions under his belt winning promotion three times to the Premier League. In the 16/17 campaign, Norwood achieved his first promotion out of the Championship when he helped Brighton finish 2nd place.

He then achieved promotion again to the Premier League the following year, with Fulham. The established midfielder was sent out on loan to Fulham, from Brighton, and he helped the West London club gain promotion via the play-offs.

The deep-lying playmaker then brought his talents to the Blades in the 18/19 campaign where he gained promotion for the third consecutive season.

After the PNE win, Norwood expressed that “there is still a long-long way to go. We’ve got over another hurdle.”

He also pointed out that United have had three tough away fixtures, which have resulted in three wins, making United’s winning run extend to four and counting.

Sheffield United have won seven of their first ten games this season, but Norwood insists that this good form isn’t just from this season, he explained;

“It’s not just nine or ten games, this has been nine or ten months.”

One huge difference from last season compared to this season is the amount of preparation time the team had in the pre-season. Last summer, the Blades had a very rushed summer with not many friendlies. This summer, the club set up a methodical approach to pre-season, resulting in great preparation, and it has shown in performances so far this season.
