As we reported last month, Matt Lowton has finally put pen to paper on a new deal at Bramall Lane. The Sheffield-born youngster enjoyed a superb season last year, proving vital at both ends of the pitch.
Speaking after the deal was signed, Matt told the club’s official website.
‘I have been at United since I was 15 years old,’ said Matt. ‘I still have a lot learning and developing to do, but I feel I am at right the place to do it, this is only my second full season at this level.
During United’s Premiership season, Matt was a ball boy at home games and was positioned in front of the Kop: ‘Listening to that noise and passion made me doubly determined to be a pro footballer and so to do it in front of the same fans is even better.
‘I love playing at Bramall Lane and this season we will do all we can to make it a horrible place for visiting teams to come. We want to make it a place that teams fear.’
