Lots of Blades fans have been reacting to the performance of a certain someone on Tuesday night against Reading.
Luke Freeman hasn’t been able to nail down a regular spot in the first-team during the league this season, starting only three league games and making nine appearances in total, so these games in the cup are a nice way for him to make a good impression, and he certainly did that against the Royals.
If you take a look at his stats from the game from WhoScored, he was doing a little bit of everything both in attack and defence, completing 95% of his passes, including an assist for the winner, as well as putting in three tackles and making two interceptions.
Does Freeman deserve more minutes?
No
Yes
Little wonder then that fans were so keen to shower of him with praise when the club put out a tweet praising his performance on the night.
The left side of the midfield 3 is the strongest I’ve ever seen it at The Lane with Fleck/Freeman

Can’t believe people are suggesting playing Fleck in a deeper role!! Have they not seen how’s he’s played this season with a more advanced role?

Easy MOM for me.
Did well in a couple of different positions.
Would love us to play same shape as last season at some point with him in the Duffy No.10 role between Oli/Fleck and front 2 #twitterblades— Maxydee (@MaxydeeMax) March 4, 2020

I’d love to see him play more often, fantastic player. I reckon he’d start all the time if he was right footed

Have we got the budget to arrange an operation to have his feet swapped over to make him right footed?

He’s better than just a bit part player goes to show how well we are going in midfield not one of our ‘squad players’ has looks out of place this season when called upon ⚽️👍🏼

I wonder if it’s going to be enough to convince Chris Wilder to give him a go in the league now.
