Steve Simonsen and Paul Connolly are expected to leave Bramall Lane this week, following the steel city derby.
Simonsen had his deal extended by a week so he could feature in the crucial game, before Paddy Kenny returns next Saturday.
Meanwhile Connolly, who has featured heavily since his arrival, and missed just one game through suspension, following his red card against Barnsley will return to Derby County.
Manager Kevin Blackwell said: ‘It looks like they’re both done now. We’ll talk to some people at Stoke this week, but for now, they’ll be going back I think.’
