The League Cup exit to Tottenham was followed up by the FA Cup exit against Preston, our league form has also suffered of late but Sheffield United got back on track against Colchester on Tuesday night.

That’s how you ‘get a promotion bid back on track’ isn’t it, after an indifference spell of league form and the disappointment of cup exits, we put the weekend defeat against Gillingham behind us to win four-one at Bramall Lane….

We needed a positive start, and we got just that as Baxter (8) gave us an early lead when he was able to force home a Campbell-Ryce freekick to put us ahead inside 10-minutes.

Former Sheffield United man Porter, who would have wanted to mark his return with a goal, was denied by Turner before Done (37) marked his ended a fine move with a drive past Walker to make it two-nil at the break.

McEveley (59) all but wrapped up the points on the hour before a consolation went Colchester’s way when Szmodics got his goal.

We had the last word though, a Briggs foul on Coutts gave the Baxter (80) the chance to add another from the spot, which he did to seal a four-one win.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
