Sheffield United look set to lose goalkeeper Paddy Kenny after a £750,000 bid by QPR.

Rangers, now managed by former Blades boss Neil Warnock have met the clause in Kenny’s contract which allows him to speak to them, but despite appearing to ‘stand by him’ during his recent suspension, the ‘keeper could join up with his former employer.

Kenny made his long awaited comeback in the penultimate game last season at home to Swansea City, but despite signing a new deal midway through the last campaign, Warnock may be able to tempt the stopper away from Bramall Lane.

A ‘source close to the club’ told the Star:
‘United want to keep him, they’ve made that plain, but it should come as no surprise that Paddy is also wanted by others in the division because he is known as being one of the best, if not the best, that there is in his position.’
