During the 2-0 win away at Hull City on Sunday afternoon, United’s left-wingback Max Lowe, unfortunately, suffered a hamstring injury, Paul Heckingbottom confirmed in his post-match interview with SUTV. The extent of it is currently unknown and Lowe will be assessed this week.

The boss mentioned after the game to SUTV

“We need some bodies back, there’s no hiding that. We’d have some Championship side with just the injured players. Lowey today is a blow definitely but it’s an opportunity for others. But we do need bodies back.”

United are still without Jayden Bogle, Jack O’Connell, Billy Sharp, John Fleck, Ben Osborn, Enda Stevens, Ismaila Coulibaly, Ciaran Clark, Jack Robinson and Adam Davies. Now adding Max Lowe to the list of injuries.

Remarkably, Sheffield United are sitting in 1st place in the Championship even with the number of significant injuries that they’ve accumulated.

Sheffield United will face yet another Yorkshire rival, as the Blades host South Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham United at Bramall Lane this Saturday afternoon. It is unclear whether the likes of Ciaran Clark will make a return to the matchday squad for this weekend.

United can extend their 100% home winning record at the weekend by beating Rotherham United, that would make it 5 wins from 5 at Bramall Lane this season. The Millers meanwhile have not yet won away from home and have only scored a single goal on their travels. Whilst the Blades have only conceded a single goal at home.
