Sheffield United left it very late on Tuesday night to claim all 3 points away at Swansea City. Reda Khadra and Rhian Brewster came off the bench to link up in stoppage and put the Blades 1-0 up.

The late win on Tuesday night sees the Blades remain at the top of the league. That win also means that United have strung 3 wins together for the first time this season. Subsequently extending their unbeaten run to 8 in the league.

United have now won back-to-back away games for the first time since the end of January/beginning of February. Additionally, Reda Khadra’s goal secured United’s first-ever away win at Swansea City.

Paul Heckingbottom told the press just how difficult of a game it was:

“I thought Swansea were good. We know Swansea are going to dominate the ball here they dropped and denied us that space we then didn’t risk possession enough.”

In Heckingbottom’s post-match press conference he was asked about his attacking changes at 0-0:

“If I was making negative subs all the time when I am saying we are trying to win every game it doesn’t fit.”

He added:

“If it evens itself out for every one you get right you get one wrong we are still ahead because it’s three points a win, that will always be our mentality. We will try and win the game.”

The gaffer was vocal about the contribution of Rhian Brewster, not just Reda Khadra. He was asked about the match winner Reda Khadra, to which he responded:

“Yeah pleased for him. I was pleased for him and Rhian. They have done all the work, they know their roles when they were coming on and sometimes they work out for you. It worked out great with Rhian against the middle centre back, Kyle, and Reda then breaking off the deepest midfielder because you are not going to catch him.”
