Chris Armstrong has extended his contract by 18 months following his battle to overcome a knee injury that threatened to end his playing career. The 23 year old defender has proved his fitness and shown that his knees are up to the challenges of professional football with a loan period at Blackpool. The loan was seen as a make or break time for the player who joined The Blades in 2003 for £100 000.
Armstrong has been allowed to return to Blackpool to get first team action but there is a 24 hour recall clause in the deal.
Stephen Quinn has had his loan deal with the MK Dons extended. The midfielder will now spend another two months with the Dons after impressing Danny Wilson last month.
