Whatever will be will be.

That seems to be the message that Sheffield United’s Sander Berge wanted to portray as he gave his views about the current work stoppage and when exactly the Premier League season will get going again.

Speaking to the club’s in-house YouTube channel SUTV, the Norwegian midfielder spoke about what his personal preference was when it came to finishing the season off, and in his view, he just wants to get the whole thing finished because the Blades simply have too much left to fight for:

“Of course I would love to play in front of fans… but the best solution would be to play without the fans. I still want to play the games, I feel we have everything to play for, everything to achieve being in the position that we are in in the league.”

Whilst Berge might not necessarily be the biggest name in the Premier League, his views might not carry the same weight as a member of the so-called ‘big six’ like Harry Kane (Instagram Live via The Independent).

I feel that the more that players start talking about wanting to get the season back underway, whether that be behind closed doors or not, although more than likely the former, then the more pressure is going to be put on the various organisations to get this thing over the line sooner rather than later (providing of course that it’s done safely).

I’ve spoken before about how I feel the league season needs to be started up because of the emotional and financial effect that it can have on both supporters and clubs, and it’s nice to see that the players are taking the same approach, although perhaps for different reasons.

And it’s a vastly different view than someone like Karren Brady for instance.
