Neil Redfearn’s Sheffield United Women face Durham Women at Bramall Lane this evening, with the match kicking off at 5.30 PM. For the past couple of seasons has been the Blades Women side played their home matches at the Technique Stadium, home of Chesterfield FC, however, this season the Blades will play all their home matches at S2.

They come into this fixture eleventh in the Barclays Women’s Championship table following a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park on the opening day of the season last Sunday.

The two sides last met in January 2022 and ended in a 1-1 draw at Maiden Castle. The hosts took the lead 25 minutes after Beth Hepple converted from the penalty spot after Ellie Watson was clattered. United levelled after 85 minutes when Bex Rayner’s deflected shot found the net.

The Wildcats begin this fixture fifth in the table following their opening day draw with rivals Sunderland, which ended 1-1 after a hard-fought match.
