Sheffield United vs Huddersfield Town was originally scheduled to kick off at 3PM on Saturday the 10th of December.

However, due to England playing their quarter-final tie – against France – at 7PM on the same day, EFL is allowing teams to bring their kick-offs earlier so away fans can travel home in time to watch the England game.

The Blades have had a four-week break in their league campaign because of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The majority of the players have been able to rest and recover over this period, whilst the injured players have been able to catch up to the rest of the squad in terms of fitness.

As we all know, Iliman Ndiaye made it to the round of 16 with Senegal, but subsequently, they were knocked out by England last Sunday night. This now throws a spanner in the works for Paul Heckingbottom; will the manager give their star player a rest from action this Saturday?

With Sheffield United having two players participating in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, FIFA will pay compensation fees to Sheffield United, as a result, United will receive:

180,000 USD – Adam Davies

220,000 USD – Iliman Ndiaye

Additionally, because Aaron Ramsdale was still at Sheffield United in the summer of 2021, the Blades will currently receive 140,000 USD for his participation – that will rise if England advance to the next stage of the competition.
