Daniel Bogdanovic was again the hero of the hour, securing a point for Sheffield United with a late penalty.

The Maltese international won the spot-kick for the second successive game after coming on as a second-half substitute, dusted himself off and once again placed it low into the bottom corner.

United had gone behind late in the game when Shane Long capitalised on a mistake by Matt Lowton to prod past Steve Simonsen.

The Blades had run their luck close for a long time, with a spell in the first half where they came under intense pressure but barring an effort from distance by the returning Brian Howard, Reading failed to really trouble United’s ‘keeper.

In the second half we was called into action more smothering from Kebe and preserving the point at the death when Long looked certain to add to his tally.

Sam Vokes made his debut on the day he signed a loan deal from Wolves, but failed to make an impression on the game barring some well won flick-ons. A question regarding match-fitness could be an issue?

Ertl was recalled into central defence to partner Neill Collins, with Lee Williamson and Richard Cresswell also included in the starting XI. The former Stoke striker stepping in as captain for the night.

A point gained or two dropped will be the question after tonight, and boss Adams will have plenty of food for thought after seeing all but one of his strikers misfiring again, and the crowd calling for a Bogdanovic start.
