Diego De Girolamo has moved to League Two side York City for a month long loan spell.
The Italian youth international featured for the club in our Johnstone’s Paint Trophy victory over Hartlepool United in midweek and he will, at least initially, stay at Bootham Crescent until November 6.
Speaking to the Official Site about the move for the 19 year old, manager Nigel Clough explained.
‘Diego is going to gain some valuable first team experience, it’s an ideal move for him and the club because should we need him he will be available to us for the next round of the JPT.’
Clough adds that his showing in midweek shows his potential, but also the fact that he needs to get far more experience under his belt and he’s only going to get that from live, competitive games, and that’s what this spell should give him.
He could make his debut for them this Saturday in their game against Newport County.
