I listened to the Cup match against West Ham on BBC Radio Sheffield last night.
Listening to Keith Edwards, he seemed to change his tune somewhat, following a decent display by the team. It was good to hear about them pushing forward and taking the game to West Ham, just like our cup run last season. Still played with one up front though, with Baxter just behind the front man. I wonder if this is going to be the norm this season.
Extra time is always a nail biter, and we haven`t been that lucky with penalties in the past – but five out of five seems to have shrugged those bug bears off. It was actually good to get a striker for once to take one!
I hope this cup result spills over to league performance now. We`ve been a bit slow off the mark, and although we are now starting to pick up the points, it will be good to see the team with confidence after this result.
I`ll be looking forward to the draw. Wonder if we`ll get a derby this time? We were close to that last season, and I reckon it would be a decent match if we manage to get the draw.
Anyway, Preston next up in the league, let`s see if we can grab three points there as well.
