I am still away so I missed the opening game of the season. I was glued to Sky Sports News though hoping for a win.
It was a good start for us, although the opening possession and shots on target stats weren`t what I expected.
There were a few new players fielded today and it looked like a bit more of a solid formation that CW threw together compared to last season`s three at the back and two wing-backs.
There’s a few lads with injuries at the moment, such as Baldock, Evans and Hanson. It’ll be good to see these recover and push for a place in the starting team. Competition for places will be good to see.
I was glad Sharp got off to a scoring start, it will be nice to see him as one of the division`s top scorers come the end of the season.
We`ve a cup match next at home to Walsall, followed by League games against Middlesbrough, Cardiff, and Barnsley. My first match back will the Barnsley match, which I`m looking forward to as I can`t wait to get back to my seat on the Kop.
Anyway, a decent result was what we got today, and it made it more enjoyable to see Wednesday lose away at Preston!
