Manager Nigel Clough has said that despite another defeat in pre season against Huddersfield Town last night, there were still positives he could take meaning he came out of the game largely pleased with what he saw.

A late goal from Huddersfield won them to game on Tuesday evening, but speaking to the Official Site after the 90 minutes Clough said it was all about the bigger picture and the season coming, not results at this stage.

‘I was very pleased with the performance, especially in the first half. We started well and could have had a goal or two in the first 15 minutes. We got the ball wide and the full backs and Ben Davies put in some quality deliveries, we just need to get someone on the end of them. In the second half, Chris Porter also squared a pass that was just behind Jamie Murphy, we’re just a yard or two short at the moment but that is what pre season is all about.’

Clough goes on to say now that after some hard weeks are only 10 days and two games off kicking the season off properly, but he’s been very pleased with the progression he’s seen in the team both in terms of the general fitness levels now, but also in terms of how the play is starting to come through on the pitch.
