Sheffield United secured an impressive pre-season win over Turkish champions Fenerbahçe on Thursday night.

The game at Bramall Lane, taking place to make our 125th anniversary and also help raise funds for the Turkish Mining Disaster, was played out in front of a little under 13,000 fans with the Blades winning 2-1.

A Fenerbahçe side, littered with international talent, went into the interval one-nil up after a goal from Pierre Webó, who appeared at the world cup finals this summer.

Sheffield United weren’t to be beaten though as Chris Porter levelled things up at one-one with 15-minutes to play, the striker heading home to get us on terms, which was deserved by all accounts.

A one-one draw would have been taken, and more than acceptable, but a performance that would have impressed Nigel Clough and the on-looking fans was won two-one by another header in the 90th minute as Neill Collins nodded home to see off Fenerbahçe.

Sheffield United: Howard, Flynn (Alcock 55), McGahey (Collins 68), Butler, Davies, Doyle (Basham 76), Reed (Dimaio 84), McGinn (Wallace 76), Porter (De Girolamo 76), Campbell-Ryce (Crawford 76), McNulty.
Unused: Willis, Harris, Murphy.
