Manager Nigel Clough was delighted to see us pick up all three points in last night’s game against Peterborough United.

Jose Baxter opened the scoring for us on the night before Posh got the leveller ten or so minutes later, and it fell to Ben Davies to settle the points as he struck late on in the second period.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Clough admitted there were plenty of positives he could take from the game, not least the points, but he was disappointed with their goal given it came from a set piece.

‘The first goal was particularly pleasing, we do it all the time in training so we were delighted to see it replicated in a game, it was a fantastic team goal. It was a tremendous finish from Jose, but to let them equalise from a corner is always frustrating and we told the lads that. Ben Davies was probably our star performer again, back in his preferred role. His set piece delivery was brilliant and if there was one person we wanted that to fall to for the winning goal, it was him.’

Having made five changes from the team that lost to Coventry, Clough also admitted he was delighted with the performances of those he brought into the team and although he admits he felt we started quite nervy, he didn’t feel it took us long to grow into the game and start showing some good confidence and in many ways after consecutive losses, the speed with which we settled into the game was another positive.

If anything such was the first half performance that he admitted everybody in the dressing room felt disappointed that we didn’t have the lead at half time, but thankfully that drove them on in the secnod half.
