Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough says it was an immensely satisfying performance after seeing the side beat Peterborough United 2-0 at Bramall Lane.

The blades won 2-0 despite making six changes to the side that beat MK Dons at the weekend. “It was immensely satisfying with the changes that we made,” Clough told BBC Radio Sheffield.

“It was brilliant to see the lads come in, keep the run going and put is in a good place in the league.”

Clough saw his side make it eight wins in a row in all competitions thanks to a first goal from on loan Ben Davies and an eighth goal of the season from Chris Porter.

Davies opened the scoring in the opening minutes of the second half when he fired home a free-kick.

Porter once again came off the bench to score a crucial second goal late in the game as they also made it six clean sheets in a row.

The blades can now concentrate on their FA Cup quarter-final with Charlton Athletic on Sunday.
