Sheffield United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performances by Leon Clarke in the three nil victories over Port Vale and Bradford City in the weekend’s Easter double header was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Clarke was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Sheffield United were confirmed as Sky Bet League One champions at the weekend, and Leon Clarke’s emphatic volley in the 3-0 win at Port Vale gave a glimpse as to why. In front of the Sky Sports cameras on Easter Monday, the Blades put on another show, and the striker made it five goals in four games after netting another two against Bradford City.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Clarke for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.
